Parents of deceased
hip-life artiste, Ronnie Coaches are reported to have clashed over the
mortal remains of the late Buk Bak group member.
Ronnie, 36, died on November 21, 2013 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after suffering a heart attack.
The body of the musician
, also known in
real life as Ronnie Nii Quarshikumah Quainoo, is expected to be laid to
rest on Saturday, February 1, 2014 but from indications, all is not
going well.
According to eyewitnesses, there was
some confusion at the Bubuashie residences of both Ronnie's mother,
Lilly, and father, Decarlo Coaches Quainoo Friday, as soon as the body
of the late musician wwas conveyed from Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital
morgue.
The source said, as soon as the body
arrived in the vicinity where his parents live - their houses are
separated by a street - both of them insisted the remains be brought to
their homes.
Reports say after several minutes of a
near tussle between the two factions as to who has the right to the
body, an unnamed relative managed to move the body to safety.
It still unclear the whereabouts of the remains of the musician.
The family is expected to hold a
Wake-keeping at the National Theatre on Friday, January 31 and the body
is expected to be at the venue to be laid in state.
The remains of the late musician will be
interred at the Osu Cemetery on February 1, to be followed by a
memorial service at the Success Chapel, Bubuashie in Accra on Sunday,
February 2.
